Pho – Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup

Akron Eats Food Blog - PhoI grew up eating a variety of noodle soup dishes, usually for a light lunch instead of a heavier rice-based meal. In all honestly, I did not enjoy them while I was younger but today, I will actively seek out restaurants that serve any type of noodle soup bowls around where I live. One of my favorite noodle soups is Pho (pronounced ‘fuh), a Vietnamese noodle soup dish. Happily, Pho is quickly becoming popular in the United States and can be found in many large and medium cities in the country. In Akron, a few restaurants serve Pho (I’ve tried them all) but my favorite place is Asian Gardens Restaurant. Asian Gardens serves their Pho with a boat load of condiments like fried garlic, fried shallots, hot chili oil, ground chili pepper, hoisin sauce, siracha sauce, fish sauce, and 6 types of vegetables. Of course, the most important ingredients of the dish is the broth which is done very well there. Pho is amazing Asian comfort food and will warm you right up on a cold winter’s day. You should try it, especially at Asian Gardens.
